I was browsing www.kitegallery.net the other day – hat’s off to the guy behind that site – Craig Sparkes (www.craigsparkes.com) . It’s not as busy as it used to be, I suppose people have youtube when they wan’t to post videos of themselves and flickr for their photos. Also most of the people that are in the pro’s section (I am very humbled that I was added to that section – but that was a few years ago now!) have moved on to kitesurfing or just different things. Anyway, I’ve posted a load of pics up there over the years and picked out one or two of the better ones and I’m sharing with you now – please note that the pics are all quite old school and things have changed in regards to the tricks the top riders today!
First up – the old classic board off. This image was used by MBS for an advert they ran in a mag in the US. The board is Sukie’s MBS Pro 6 – not even mine!
Things have moved on in kite landboarding but you can’t beat the feeling of a well timed board off, and they still look dramatic!

Ok for some reason, the photo editor on my blog has stopped giving me the option of adding images as thumbnails. So it’s titles from now on, just click on them to open them full size. Here’s another tweaked tailgrab. I’m using a 16m C kite which had a load of float - bit hard to hold down all of it’s power compared to today’s modern SLE / bow kites, but still good fun.
OK, looks like the photo below works as a thumbnail – that’s a regular indy, and coincidentally the outline of that image is what HQ Powerkites use as their graphic for landboarding throughout their website and marketing stuff.
I’ll add some more in another post – it’s stopped letting me add photos just now!
