The best day of the year so far…

I’m going to refer back to this post whenever an amazing day turns up this year. Nice thought that isn’t it, that it’s just a matter of a calender flipping over until another magic session arrives?

I’m teaching everything I know about kitesurfing in a FREE clinic

I’m running a clinic to cover all the unique information I have learned during my years as an editor, instructor trainer, kite tester and swell chaser. If you’ve ever been inspired by an article of mine you’ve read in the kite media, please consider that as just the tip of the iceberg…!

Warm, no crowds, offshore winds, pumping surf…stay home now.

**Big photos: click on an image, then click on it once more to view LARGE ** I did have plans to do a load of trips this winter, but after this Saturady just gone, all bets are off concerning the best place to grab some world class winter waves. Saturday dawned with sun beaming in [...]

How to: survive getting caught inside!

The common wisdom in surfing is that the further outside of the ‘impact zone’ you are, the safer you will be. However there are times when you might need to ‘cut and run’ and give up the battle of trying to punch your way out of the impact zone. On our recent Lanzarote trip, we [...]

You may know that I have a great mate who goes by the name of Smiler. Well, Smiler and I seem to share the same fascination with, and desire for, surfing whatever the Atlantic can throw on to our doorstep. We’ve had some milestone moments: the Polzeath near death kitesurf; the great Fistral love surf [...]

Mate, I nearly ‘mist’ you there :)

Things were looking good for this morning according to last night’s forecast, and Smiler came round at the new 8am. We set off to Watergate but were kept in suspense as to the actual conditions until we actually paddled out because the fog was so thick.

Lanzarote SUP Surf Crossover

Out here in Lanzarote, staying with Rob and Julie Small, owner / operators of Casa Penelope, a very nice villa in Tinajo for folks that want to get a bit more from Lanzarote. I’m here with my SUP Magazine editor’s hat on to cover a week with Fanatic SUP team racer Charlie Grey from Shoreham, [...]
